Learn more about architecture and design from the comfort of your own home with our free, live, and online Architecture at Home workshops led by Center for Architecture educators. Each 45-minute session explores an architectural topic through virtual tours, interactive lessons and discussions, and gets kids started on a design project they can complete on their own with easy-to-find materials.

All Architecture at Home events require a device with internet connection and camera. Workshops are FREE and are open to all at-home learners, families, and youth ages 5+.

Create your own building design using simple materials from home. We’ll look at different types of buildings for inspiration, then use your imagination to design a building you’d like to add to your neighborhood.

Materials: Empty box, paper bag, or sheet of paper (to use as your building base), scissors, glue, colored paper (construction paper, magazines, etc.), other recycled materials (paper rolls, scrap cardboard, etc.), Illustrated Building Parts vocabulary sheet (optional)

See Architecture at Home Events for upcoming workshops and Architecture at Home Resources for design projects you can do on your own!
